World Day against Child Labour Campaign 2012 in Japan

5th May 2012 – 30th June 2012

Objective of the campaign:

This campaign aims to reduce child labour in the world through raising public awareness about child labour and increasing people who act to resolve the problem.

Significance of this period:

12th June is the World Day against Child Labour, which was established by the International Labour Organization (ILO). Many activities are being developed all over the world to eliminate the worst forms of child labour.

Co-sponsored by many organizations and companies:

Many events will be held during the period by member organizations, which belong to the child labour network, and sponsor organizations and companies.

Why not participate?

Governments, international organizations, NGOs or companies cannot independently resolve problems of child labour. The most important is to cooperate each other. For example, in sporting-goods industry which handled soccer balls made by child’s’ hand, about 6000 children have withdrawn from work and could attend schools through the cooperation among international organizations like FIFA (Federation International de Football Association), industrial companies and NGOs. Why don’t you participate? Member organization can participate in common action, and post the name and events on advertisements.
